Greetings – Welcome!

New Zealand has a large and growing Pasifika population. Pasifika teachers and resources are in great demand, and our current and future Pasifika learners need as much support as we can give them. We’re working to lay strong foundations for their success.

We publish student and teacher materials in Pasifika languages on behalf of the Ministry of Education. Our resources are available in gagana Sāmoa, gagana Tokelau, Tongan, vagahau Niue, and Cook Islands Māori. All these resources are built to meet the unique needs of Pasifika learners as well as mainstream learners of Pasifika languages.

As we work with an array of cultures, our community networks and relationships are vital. We nurture a sense of extended family in our processes. Our collaborative way of working allows us to produce effective, innovative materials that reflect Pasifika learners’ experiences in our diverse, changing society. We develop our resources using an improvement framework, so we rely on evidence from both trialling and current research to inform our practice.

We enable learners to engage with Pasifika texts that speak to their culture. Our resources also speak to our shared vision of heightened student achievement. With teachers, families, and communities, we’re working to build the success of all Pasifika learners.

Methodology

Our methodology expresses why we work the way we do. We apply this thinking to every service we provide and every resource we create.
