Health education

We develop effective and engaging solutions for schools, whānau and communities to increase health literacy and improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders.

Learning Media is responsible for a rich cross-section of health education resources in New Zealand. Our resources support New Zealanders to achieve good health.

This means meeting the brief to provide clear, positive information. It also means building health literacy. Accuracy is paramount: it’s essential to get the right messages across so that people can make informed choices about their health.

Our resources serve many different cultural communities. In fact, these resources are channelled through up to seventeen languages. To make a resource culturally specific, we talk with target audiences to ensure that our work will resonate with them. We also revise past health resources so they are meaningful to contemporary audiences.

To ensure that content is based on clear evidence and in line with current thinking, we consult directly with the Ministry of Health. Our in-house Māori and Pasifika experts also provide an invaluable consultative role. Every health resource goes through rigorous pre-testing in order to meet exacting standards.

Health education resources have a long lifespan. We provide secure, robust processes around intellectual property so it’s safe and hassle-free to reprint.

Methodology

Our methodology expresses why we work the way we do. We apply this thinking to every service we provide and every resource we create.
